Famous for ‘Tinder Swindler’, Simon Leviev has been sued by Israeli Russian diamond tycoon Lev Leviev and his family for using the family name to get financial gains.
Simon Leviev is in legal trouble with the family because as per PEOPLE, Israeli Russian diamond tycoon Lev Leviev and his family filed suit against Simon.
The lawsuit notes that “for a long time, he [Simon Leviev] has been making false representations as being the son of Lev Leviev and receiving numerous benefits (including material ones).”
The filings added that the Tinder Swindler has been cunningly using false words, claiming to be a member of the Leviev Family, and that his family will pay and bear the costs of his benefits.
“The defendant used the dating application ‘Tinder’ to locate women who he then emotionally manipulated, cunningly bamboozled of funds, and eventually convinced to transfer large sums of money to him under the guise of being on the run from individuals intending on hurting him,” the lawsuit stated.
Tinder Swindler
The so-called Tinder Swindler is Shimon Hayut, a convicted fraudster born in Israel. Hayut used dating apps to meet multiple women, then established lines of credit and loans in their names, ultimately leaving them holding the bills.
How much money did he steal? An estimated $10 million, according to The Times of Israel. Hayut would evade repayment by cajoling, threatening and otherwise stalling his victims: He made a habit of sending increasingly unhinged WhatsApp voice messages, even sending one to the filmmakers when he learned about The Tinder Swindler’s existence.
