Thugs of Pakistan

Hunaid Lakhani by Hunaid Lakhani
October 25, 2020

Nowadays we keep talking about the thugs of Pakistan who looted the nationals and amassed wealth outside the country. This profession of thugs has been continued in the subcontinent since the fourteenth century.

Our present thugs of Pakistan have left far behind the stories of Amir Ali thugs, Lutfullah thugs, Juma thugs and others. Even these thugs of Pakistan have defeated the thugs of the ancient city of Banaras in India. When these thugs set foot in Pakistan, they occupied the lands of the poor people here, and later they were known as the capitalists and feudal lords of the land.

Not all were the same. Some of them got their place due to their hard work and dedication. But there were also some people who, in terms of profession, were looting the people. Today, their descendants have defeated the thugs of the past who have been wreaking havoc on the subcontinent for centuries.

Nowadays, thugs are so clever and cunning that even after looting the whole country, they keep on flaunting their false oppression all the time. It seems that a mental connection of the present thugs is connected with the events of the past when thugs were rampant in the subcontinent.

In old days, the British tried their best to limit this evil of fraud. In this regard, history informs that the Governor General of India appointed one of his military officers to eradicate thugs, who carried out this task in a systematic manner and punished the thugs from 1831 to 1837.

Thugs were so rampant in the British era that a separate department had to be set up to deal with them and that department is now known as the Intelligence Bureau (IB). In those days, the thugs were very dangerous because they used to kill people after looting the caravans. Thugs had also a team (cabinet) who communicated with each other in specific gestures and ways, gaining credibility before joining the caravan.

After the formation of Pakistan, such thugs were occasionally encountered at the non-governmental level, but after 1985, these thugs also began to appear at the official level. And whenever these thugs got a chance, they looted state resources with both hands and then took advantage of their government positions to get commissions from private, domestic and foreign companies.

Like the thugs of the past, the present thugs have repeatedly disguised themselves and tried to secure the looted wealth by depositing money into fake accounts. Pakistani thugs, on news channels, always cry to show that they are oppressed and free from corruption.

Pakistani thugs accept humiliation but do not their sin. Besides, old thugs are highly respected in our country and for these thugs, some of the people are ready to die all the time.

Historians, when start telling us the story of thugs, it immediately becomes like a sketch of a cunning person in our minds, but it doesn’t happen anymore. Because nowadays, the sketches of our corrupt rulers started appearing in our minds.

Today, these thugs of the 14th century are appearing before us in the 21st century in disguise, who sometimes fills the accounts of the people of this country in the name of metro buses, sometimes cheap bread, sometimes underpasses, and sometimes highways.

Those who laid the foundation of money laundering, who built properties with the money of the nation outside the country, are the thugs of the past who in every era resorted to democracy and tied the nation in chains of foreign debts. Is Pakistan’s current legal system right for these thugs? Or the Chinese law that hanged dozens of corrupt ministers and officials.
