Three Khawarij were killed in a security forces’ operation in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by national media on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an operation in the Tirah area of Khyber district based on intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists, resulting in the killing of three Khawarij.
Inter-Services Public Relations stated that the operation effectively targeted the Khawarij’s hideout, and weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for the successful operation in Khyber district and reiterated the commitment to completely eliminate the menace of Khawarij from the country.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the forces for their success against Khawarij in Khyber, stating that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, a rise in terrorist attacks was observed across the country this year, in a recent incident, terrorists hijacked the Jaffar Express train, marking the first incident of its kind. The terrorists took several passengers hostage and killed multiple individuals. However, security forces successfully conducted an operation, rescuing dozens of passengers and eliminating the terrorists.
