UBARO/JACOBABAD: Sindh Police are reported to have killed three dacoits in two different encounters that took place in upper area of the province during last 24 hours.
According to information gathered by MM News, a fierce gun battle broke out between the police and dacoits, on Gadu Link Road in Obaru, Ghotki, as a result of which two unknown dacoits were killed while two of their accomplices managed to escape.
The incident happened when a police party was patrolling the area and spotted the dacoits. The police retaliated and the dacoits responded by firing at the police. The exchange of fire resulted in the death of two dacoits whose identity had yet to be determine.
In another incident, a dacoit was killed while his two accomplices managed to flee during an alleged police encounter in the jurisdiction of Abad Police Station Jacobabad. The police claimed that the slain culprit was identified as Shafiq alias Shafu Sarki, and weapons, a motorcycle, and mobile phones were recovered from his possession.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the dacoit was a wanted criminal and had been involved in more than two dozen cases of robbery and illegal possession of weapons. The police have launched a search operation to arrest the escaped accomplices.
