Netflix’s recently released romantic comedy titled ‘Doctor Slump’ is leading streamer’s weekly chart for non-English TV series.
Starring Park Shin-Hye and Park Hyung-Sik, the global streaming service stated that the ongoing series garnered 2.9 million total views during the January 29-February 4 period, and was No. 1 in nine countries, including Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the dystopian action flick ‘Badland Hunters’, starring Ma Dong-seok, globally known as Don Lee, retained the No.1 spot for two weeks in a row on the streamer’s non-English movie list, with 18.1 million views. The film was also the most-viewed movie, including English titles, on the streaming site during the cited period. (Yonhap)
What is ‘Doctor Slump’ about?
Doctor Slump is a romantic comedy about two former high school rivals who reunite and unexpectedly after 14 years and become each other’s light during the darkest period of their lives.
Park Hyung Sik will star as Yeo Jung Woo, a star plastic surgeon whose thriving career suddenly falls into danger due to a strange medical accident, while Park Shin Hye will play Nam Ha Neul, an anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome.
Ha-neul and Jeong-woo were high school rivals who despised each other and parted ways after high school. But when they are forced to quit their jobs as doctors they end up living together in a rooftop room.
Apart from Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik, the romcom series also stars Yoon Park, Kong Seong-ha [ko] and Oh Dong-min [ko].
‘Doctor Slump’ is streaming on Netflix this Saturday and Sunday.
