KARACHI: A shrink appointed by Sindh High Court for psychological evaluation of a Karachi teenager has claimed to have received death threats from Sindh Minister for Women Development Shehla Raza.
The Sindh High Court appointed psychiatrist Dr. Fatima Riaz to conduct a psychological assessment of the minor who allegedly eloped to Punjab.
Speaking outside the SHC on Tuesday, Dr. Riaz asserted that she was offered intoxicating tea when she went to the girl’s parents’ home for her examination.
“As I am an approved FCPS psychiatrist, I noticed changes in my behavior,” she said. Dr Riaz said that she got her Urine Toxicology test done which confirmed that she was intoxicated. “I have attached all those reports,” she said.
Dr Riaz claimed that she has been receiving death threats from provincial minister Shehla Raza.
Shehla Raza, on the other hand, has denied all of the accusations against her, claiming that she doesn’t even know Dr. Riaz. She referred to all of the accusations as unfounded.
Dr. Riaz allegedly levelled the same charges against the primary accused and his family, according to Jibran Nasir, who is defending the girl’s parents. She is now accusing my client of the same thing, he said.
“We have all her messages saved,” Jibran Nasir said.
Moreover, he stated that Dr. Riaz had been receiving therapy for a psychological disorder. He continued, “It’s her personal life, but it’s compromised the integrity of the test.”
