Canadian singer The Weeknd and American record producer Mike Dean have joined hands on a handful of new songs, which appear on Dean’s new album 4:23.
The Weeknd sings and has co-writing credits on “Artificial Intelligence, “Defame Moi,” “More Coke!!,” and “Emotionless.”
He also picks up an executive producer credit across the LP. Listen to 4:23 in full below.
The Weeknd and the producer have worked together closely on multiple occasions. They most recently collaborated on “Double Fantasy,” the new Future-featuring lead single for the forthcoming HBO series The Idol. Tesfaye stars in the series, and he co-created it alongside Reza Fahim and Euphoria’s Sam Levinson.

The production has faced some criticism from crew members, who claimed that much of the original material created under director Amy Seimetz had been heavily re-worked at Levinson’s direction. Dean also appears in the show, which premieres on June 4.
Moreover, The Weeknd has statistically become the most popular musician on the planet he set two new Guinness World Records titles:
- Most monthly listeners on Spotify – 111.4 million (as of 20 March 2023).
- The first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The Weeknd has a history of breaking Guinness World Records. He received two certificates in 2016: one for having the most streamed album on Spotify in 2015, and another for having the most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a solo male artist.
