‘The Boys’ season 4 is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from June 13. However, the series will end with season 5.
Showrunner Eric Kripke has announced on the social media account that the R-rated superhero series will conclude with its fifth season.
Debuting in 2019, ‘The Boys’ takes place in a world run by superhero mega corp Vought and follows the battle between the supes and the titular ‘Boys’, a group of humans whose lives have been ruined in one way or another by supes.
The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Cameron Crovetti.
‘The Boys’ is executive produced by Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F. Levin, and Jason Netter, along with ‘The Boys’ comic creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Speculation had already begun that the next season of ‘The Boys’ would be it’s last as Amazon renewed the show for Season 5 just before Kripke and the cast began doing press for Season 4, which debuts with three episodes Thursday.
‘The Boys’ has spawned multiple spinoff projects at Amazon, including the animated anthology ‘The Boys Presents: Diabolical’ and the live-action superhero college series ‘Gen V’.
