In the uncertain political situation in the country, rumors of an emergency and the formation of a technocrats’ government are gaining momentum over time, with the name of former PTI leader Jahangir Tareen emerging as a potential Prime Minister in the technocrats’ government.
A few days ago, the global rating agency Fitch also predicted the formation of a technocratic government in Pakistan.
Senior journalist and political analyst Javed Chaudhry has revealed that an emergency could be imposed in the country, judges would take oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO), and former PTI leader Jahangir Tareen would assume the role of Prime Minister to manage state affairs.
During a TV program, the senior journalist cited “gossip in Islamabad’s drawing rooms,” suggesting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif might dissolve the assembly due to a perceived lack of implementation of his decisions.
Referring to some reports, the journalist mentioned that PTI leader Latif Khosa was still attempting to resolve issues between the PPP and PTI. However, the analyst indicated that the Sindh-ruling party would likely demand Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as Prime Minister in any agreement between the two parties.
“All stakeholders must come together,” the journalist emphasized, adding that they must convene “at any cost.”
He also criticized the decision to ban PTI as hasty, stating, “Nawaz Sharif’s position is unclear. Some say Nawaz was against the ban. Shehbaz conveyed someone’s message to Nawaz, convincing him that failing to act would endanger their government. Following this, Nawaz consented, and Attaullah Tarar addressed the press conference.”
