ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, former sessions judge Raja Khurram Ali filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) for review of the decision in the Tayyaba torture case.
In the Tayyaba torture case on 10 January, the Supreme Court had announced its reserved verdict on appeals moved by Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar.

Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the top court read out the judgment, annulling the verdict of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which had increased the prison sentence of both convicts from one year to three years with a fine of Rs500,000.
In a petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC), Raja Khurram Ali has APPEALED in the case to the supreme court to review its decision of January 10. In the petition he stated, “The evidence were not adequately checked before the verdict was released.”
