ISLAMABAD: Significant progress has been made to protect against potential threats of data theft of the federal cabinet proceedings.
According to sources, the quality and tablets purchased for cabinet members during the PTI era were declared inappropriate.
It was decided to purchase 150 new smart, advanced tablets to improve the security of the cabinet portal.
Sources have said that these new tablets will be purchased for the Cabinet members, Secretaries, Prime Minister’s Office, and Cabinet Division staff.
According to IT Ministry sources, the proposal to buy new tablets by relaxing the ban on machinery and equipment is under consideration.

In this regard, the summary will be submitted to the ECC today for approval. The process of automating Cabinet proceedings was initiated during the PTI era.
In the previous government, 150 tablets were purchased for cabinet members, secretaries and related staff.
Sources also said that the already purchased tablets are proposed to be used in other functions of ministries and divisions.
