KARACHI: The district police today (Thursday) have arrested a suspected drug dealer from the University Road in Karachi and allegedly recovered 60 kilgrammes of cannabis from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the Mobina Town Police Station conducted a raid and arrested the accused, while his accomplice managed to flee away from the scene.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Sajid Saduzai said that the arrest was part of an ongoing campaign against drug peddlers. A case has been registered against him and an investigation has been launched.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Police arrested six accused including husband, wife and son involved in drug trafficking in the Malir area of the metropolis. More than three kilograms of hashish and mobile phones were recovered from the arrested suspects.
