A two-year-old child was killed in a tragic incident involving stray dogs at the railway station in Gujrat, as reported by a private TV channel on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Qasim, was playing alone outside when a pack of stray dogs surrounded and attacked him. His family, who are currently residing in the old passengers’ waiting area of the station, were alerted by his screams.
The child’s mother, who was filling water at the station, rushed to his aid along with other family members and managed to rescue him from the dogs. Despite their efforts, Qasim was severely injured and was immediately taken to Aziz Bhatti Teaching Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile in another tragic incident in Paunjab, a young man raped a 9-year-old girl in Khanewal and managed to escape.
Sources said that the accused, who is a cousin of the victim, raped the girl in her house. The accused managed to escape from the scene as the girl was unconscious.
After receiving the report, the Rescue team reached the area and shifted the girl to a local hospital in critical condition. Police conducted raids in different locations but failed to arrest the accused.
