Earlier, there were rumors that Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced the 5-month long gas load-shedding in Sindh and Balochistan from October 15 to March 15, with consumers only receiving gas during meal hours for limited time.
State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, while speaking to a local media channel, clarified that no plan has been announced yet; however, authorities concerned have been directed to devise a strategy ensuring supply during mealtimes “at any cost”.
The SSGC is currently planning, he noted, and it would not be appropriate to shut off the gas during mealtimes in the winter, as it had in the past.
The government “would strive to provide gas for breakfast and mealtimes,” according to a previous statement by Malik, who foresaw a major gas shortage in the upcoming winters.
