PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government Shahram Khan Tarakai launched a special cleanliness drive today.
The Minister inaugurated a special cleanliness drive launched in Peshawar.
He said, “More than seven thousand workers including youth, volunteers and social media activists are participating in the drive.”
He said that disposing of the wastes of sacrificial animals on eid eve is a major task to be handled by the local government.
He urged the people to cooperate with the workers in order to make this drive successful.
According to him, Rs20 million have been allocated to give reward to workers in acknowledgment of their performance.
From past weeks, cleanliness drive has kicked off in many cities across the country.
Government has recently initiated campaigns to clean Karachi, Lahore and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It focuses on unclogging drains and disposing of waste in the bins instead of littering on roads.
