Actor Mukul Dev passed away on May 23 at the age of 54. He had been unwell for a few days and was admitted to the ICU, where his condition worsened. He is survived by his brother, actor Rahul Dev.
The news of his passing was confirmed by actor Vindu Dara Singh, who had worked with Mukul in Son of Sardar. Speaking to India Today, Vindu said, “After his parents’ passing, Mukul had become quite reclusive.
He rarely stepped out or met anyone. His health declined in recent days and he was hospitalized. My heartfelt condolences to his brother and to everyone who loved him. He was a wonderful person, and we will all miss him dearly.”
Vindu also expressed sorrow that Mukul would never get the chance to see himself on the big screen again.
Rest in peace my brother #MukulDev ! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing ! pic.twitter.com/oyj4j7kqGU

Actor Deepshikha Nagpal, a close friend of Mukul, also mourned his death. She posted a nostalgic photo with him on Instagram and shared her grief in a conversation with India Today. “Mukul never mentioned anything about his health. We have a WhatsApp group with friends where we’d often chat. I woke up to this heartbreaking news and have been calling his number since, hoping he might answer,” she said, fighting back tears.

Mukul, known for his low-key presence in recent years, leaves behind a deep void in the lives of those who knew him. Friends and colleagues remember him as a kind and gentle soul who gradually withdrew from the spotlight in his final years.
