Solar panel prices continue to differ across Pakistan, with rates varying from one city to another due to local market conditions, transportation costs, supplier networks and regional demand.

While the overall price gap is not significant, buyers in some cities can secure more competitive rates than those available elsewhere.

Karachi remains one of the most competitive markets for solar panels, where prices are generally lower than in cities such as Islamabad and Peshawar.

Industry observers attribute these differences to the city’s extensive distribution network, greater availability of stock and stronger competition among wholesalers.

Consumers planning to invest in a solar energy system are often advised to compare prices before making a purchase. Wholesale markets and authorised dealers typically provide a broader selection of products and more competitive pricing than many installation companies, whose quotations may include additional overheads and service charges.

Well-established trading hubs, including Karachi Saddar, Lahore Hall Road and Rawalpindi College Road, continue to attract buyers seeking reliable products at market-driven rates.

The latest market estimates indicate that solar panel prices currently range between Rs. 42 and Rs. 50 per watt across Pakistan’s major cities. Karachi and Faisalabad offer some of the lowest starting prices at approximately Rs. 42 per watt, while Islamabad records the highest upper range, reaching Rs. 50 per watt. Prices in Rawalpindi and Peshawar generally range from Rs. 43 to Rs. 49 per watt, whereas Lahore and Quetta report average rates of Rs. 43 to Rs. 48 per watt.
