Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued a revised gas supply schedule for domestic consumers. Under this new timetable, consumers will receive natural gas from 6:00 am to 9:00 am in the morning, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the afternoon, and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the evening.
SNGPL’s Executive Officer (Technical), Muhammad Faisal, stated that they are providing full-pressure gas at scheduled times across all areas as part of the government’s directive. “Occasionally, consumers experience gas shortages due to technical issues, but otherwise, we ensure full pressure during scheduled hours,” he added.
He assured that this full-pressure schedule would also apply during winter.
Despite these assurances, reports suggest that many areas still experience low to no gas pressure even during scheduled times. President of the Rawalpindi Naanbhais Welfare Association (RNWA), Muhammad Shafiq Qureshi, expressed frustration, highlighting that Naanbhais have been relying on costly cylinders year-round due to inconsistent gas supply.
“The SNGPL is only issuing high bills without delivering gas,” he protested. Many Naanbhais, he noted, have even removed their gas meters due to these excessive, gas-free charges. Consumers in Rawalpindi echoed these complaints, stating they faced gas shortages throughout the summer.
