Singer Farhan Saeed criticises Bollywood composer for piracy

LAHORE: Pakistani singer Farhan Saeed criticises Bollywood composer Salim Merchant for piracy as he believes the composer has copied his music.
Farhan Saeed posted on Twitter that how the Bollywoood composer has ripped off his song, “Someone just sent me Salim Merchant’s song Haareya, which is a total copy of my song Roiyaan. I wonder how they have the audacity to call themselves artists when they steal someone’s work.”

He added, “If you really need to copy the song then at least ask through proper channel, and if you don’t want to ask, at least execute it well.”
Composer Salim Merchant responded to Saeed’s tweet “It’s a mere coincidence that the chorus of Haareya is like your song. To be honest I’ve never heard it before. It happens many times when notes have a natural progression from each other.”

To which Farhan Saeed reverted to his tweet by saying, “If you say so! Another coincidence is we have the same lyricist! Anyway good luck!.”
