KARACHI: Coronavirus has claimed another life in Karachi, taking the provincial death toll to 10 and 32 nationwide.
Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho confirmed the news by stating that the patient was a 65-year-old man, a resident of Tando Mohammad Khan. The deceased was also a member of Tableeghi Jamat. He had been admitted to the hospital since 28th March.
Earlier on 29th March, two people suffering from coronavirus died in Karachi. Both persons were suffering from Pneumonia, ‘an inflammatory condition of the lung’ and coronavirus symptoms.
One of the deceased was 70 years old while the other was 83 years of age. Both patients were admitted to Jinnah Hospital and Dow University Hospital Ojha Campus.
Pakistan has recently witnessed a surge in coronavirus count with 76 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 2,291 while 107 patients recovered from COVID-19 pandemic.
According to details, 845 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Punjab, 744 in Sindh, 276 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 187 in Gilgit-Baltistan,169 in Balochistan, 62 in Islamabad and nine in Azad Kashmir. So far, 107 patients have recovered in the country while 9 are in critical condition.
More than 37,000 deaths from the virus have been recorded globally so far. Meanwhile, more than 785,000 COVID-19 cases of the virus have been registered in 200 countries.
