In a bid to modernize the provincial traffic management system, the Sindh Police have announced the introduction of a faceless electronic challan (e-challan) system aimed at enhancing public convenience and enforcement efficiency.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon, while chairing a high-level meeting held at the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi, stressed focus on the reorganization of various units within the provincial police structure.
During the session, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Traffic Karachi provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing traffic reforms, recent accident statistics, and the current level of compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) among heavy vehicle operators.
He also confirmed that the faceless e-challan system—under which traffic violation notices will be delivered directly to violators’ residences—is set to be launched in the coming days.
IGP Memon said that the implementation of this contactless ticketing system represents a progressive step toward improving traffic rule enforcement. He further announced plans to procure speedometers and speed guns to monitor vehicle speeds more effectively. Emphasizing the need for a coordinated strategy, he called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to reduce the frequency of road accidents.
