The Sindh High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt seeking to quash a Karachi-based case registered against him over allegations of insulting Islamic symbols.
In its ruling, the court directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh to ensure that the investigation is completed as soon as possible, ordering compliance with its directions within three weeks.
The verdict was issued after the court had earlier reserved its decision following the completion of arguments by both sides.
The case against Butt was registered at Hyderi Market Police Station in Karachi on the complaint of lawyer Riaz Solangi, who accused the YouTuber of disrespecting Islamic symbols.
The latest ruling means the case will proceed through the investigation stage rather than being dismissed at this point.
Rajab Butt has been facing multiple legal cases in recent months, including blasphemy-related FIRs and cybercrime charges.
One of the most high-profile cases was registered in Lahore in March 2025 after he launched a perfume named “295,” a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law.
