KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to increase the salaries of police personnel till Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) ranks.
According to details, salaries of all police personnel in Sindh, from the constable, sepoys to ASIs, will be increased forthwith.
The salaries of Sindh policemen will be equal to those of other provinces. Apart from salaries, it was decided to bring Sindh Police allowances and other benefits on par with other provinces.
Chief Secretary Sindh gave his approval after which the formation of the committee has been implemented. The Sindh government has issued a notification for the formation of the committee.
The five-member committee headed by the Chief Secretary includes the Inspector-General Pakistan (IGP), Secretary Finance, Secretary Services and Secretary Law.
The committee formed by the provincial government will submit a report on the scales, salaries and allowances of police personnel and comparisons with other provinces to the concerned authorities after which the salaries will be increased.
The committee will recommend that the salaries, benefits and other benefits of all police personnel from sepoy to ASI rank be made equal to those of other federating units.
