Sindh govt suspends 28 SBCA officials over corruption charges
KARACHI: Sindh government suspended 28 officials including two directors of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) over allegations of corruption and misappropriation.
According to the notification issued by the provincial government, five Deputy Directors and 15 Assistant Directors of SBCA were suspended. Five building inspectors have also been suspended. Directors Jamil Memon and Adil Omar are also among those suspended.
Jamil Memon and Adil Omar often remained in hot waters for their patronage of illegal constructions and obstruction of legal proceedings.
Sources claimed that the officers involved in making the city as concrete jungle own assets worth billions of rupees, adding that investigation was also underway against these corrupt officers.
The suspension was decided in light of the Supreme Court’s orders.  With the intervention of the court, the SBCA administration has seen a positive change.
It is worth mentioning here that Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani had suspended absent government officers while taking action against them.
