ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Sindh government is free to take decisions as per the current situation.
Taking to Twitter, Firdous Ashiq Awan wrote that all provincial governments are free and independent in their decisions as per the 18th amendment of the constitution.

“The government of Sindh is also free to take decisions as per the 18th amendment. There is no restriction of any sort from the federal government in this regard,” she further wrote.
Awan asserted that the protection of the citizens is the government’s top priority. “Federal government will continue to further strengthen measures adopted by the provincial governments to curb the spread of coronavirus,” she added.
She added that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s aim is to ensure the protection of the rights of the people of all the federating units.
Awan earlier said that coronavirus pandemic had shaken the health systems and world economy, especially in developing countries. “Prime Minister’s appeal for debt relief was actually the voice of the poor of developing countries,” she added.
The special assistant further said that the social and economic impacts of coronavirus pandemic in developing countries can be profound. “An effective global response to deal with the coronavirus pandemic is need of the hour,” she added.
