Sindh govt eases coronavirus restrictions across province

KARACHI: The Sindh government has eased several restrictions due to the improvement in the situation in coronavirus.

Only Sunday in Karachi and Friday in rural cities of Sindh will be closed as ‘Safe Day’. Sindh Home Department has issued a new order regarding implementation and business hours of coronavirus SOPs which will be applicable till September 30.

According to the notification, business and commercial centers across Sindh, including Karachi, will remain open till 10 pm, only one day a week will be Safe Day, Sunday in Karachi and Friday in other parts of Sindh will be closed as Safe Day.

According to the notification, indoor dining will be open across the province till 12 noon, however, for indoor dining, it will be necessary to bring a vaccination card. Restaurants will be allowed to seat 50 percent of the population.

Cinemas and indoor games will be banned but gyms will be open under SOPs, and shrines can be opened with the permission of local administration, and the endowment department, amusement parks, water parks, public parks, and swimming pools can be opened with 50 percent capacity.

At least 50 percent of passengers will be allowed to travel in public transport and 70 percent in railway trains. Sindh government while allowing indoor wedding celebrations said that 200 guests would be allowed in indoor celebrations while 400 guests would be allowed in wedding ceremonies in an open area.
