KARACHI: The Sindh government and the World Bank have agreed to start a housing project for the flood victims of the province.
According to the details, the provincial government and the World Bank agreed to work together on the construction of housing units and the restoration of damaged infrastructure in the flood-affected areas of Sindh.
A delegation led by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and World Bank Country Director Naji Benhasin met in Karachi during which an agreement was signed.

During the briefing held for the agreement, it was stated that the World Bank will provide a loan of 500 million dollars for the construction of housing units in the affected areas and 80 million dollars for the reconstruction of damaged roads.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government wants to start construction of houses for the flood victims as soon as possible. The Sindh government and the World Bank will build a replacement for the Jam Sadiq Bridge.
The World Bank also agreed to launch a solar system project in flood-affected areas of the province. The Sindh government will soon start the construction of a replacement bridge for the Jam Sadiq bridge in Karachi with the support of the World Bank.
