KARACHI: In a landmark initiative to empower the youth, the Sindh government has finalized preparations for the launch of the Sindh Youth Card, a program designed to provide financial and educational support to young individuals across the province.

The project will be officially inaugurated by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the last week of this month.

Key Highlights of the Initiative

Target Beneficiaries: The first phase will see the issuance of 100,000 Youth Cards to individuals aged 15 to 29 from all 30 districts of Sindh.

Benefits: Cardholders will gain access to:

– Interest-free loans for entrepreneurial and educational purposes.
– Financial assistance to support higher education.
– Educational scholarships for university studies.
– Exclusive government facilities tailored for youth development.

Eligibility: The card will be issued exclusively to youth with a Sindh domicile, ensuring localized benefits.

Streamlined Registration Process

Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mehar, emphasized that the registration process has been designed to be fully online and user-friendly, aiming to maximize youth participation. “This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a generation of empowered, educated, and financially independent young leaders,” Mehar stated.

A Step Toward Youth Empowerment

The Sindh Youth Card is said to be part of the provincial government’s broader strategy to address youth unemployment and promote economic self-reliance.

By removing financial barriers to education and entrepreneurship, the program seeks to create opportunities for thousands of young Sindhis to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Inauguration and Next Steps

The formal launch, slated for later this month, will mark the beginning of a phased rollout. Authorities have assured that the process will be transparent, with clear guidelines for application and verification to prevent misuse.
