KARACHI: Sindh Education Department has announced that there would be no further evening classes in government-run schools.
Sindh Secretary Education Ahsan Mangi has revealed that this step of putting an end to the evening shifts from public schools would help reduce the budget deficit as the number of students at these government-run schools are just countable on fingertips whereas the number of schools staffers and teaching faculty is overwhelmingly large. This irregularity causes an extra financial burden on the provincial exchequer.
In the very first phase, SED has closed evening schools in districts of Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Shehdadpur. Evening Schools in other districts of Larkana, Sukkur, Dadu, Khairpur, and others would be closed in the second phase.
