Sindh Education Dept issues fresh school timings

KARACHI: The School Education Department Sindh has announced new working hours for government schools across the province.

According to a notification issued here, the revised timings apply to single and double-shift institutions at the primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary levels.

The department has directed district officers and heads of institutions to ensure strict implementation of the new schedule, which will remain in effect until further orders.

Under the new arrangement, single-shift primary schools will operate from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays, until October 31. From November 1 to March 31, the timings will shift to 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

For double-shift schools, the first shift will run from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm until October 31, and from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm between November 1 and March 31.

The notification also specifies separate timings for single-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, as well as both shifts of double-shift primary schools.

The department emphasized that all concerned officers and school administrations must ensure immediate compliance.
