KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet today (Tuesday) approved an Rs4 billion compensation package for the rain-affected people of the province.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, was attended by all the provincial ministers and advisers, chief secretary and other officers concerned. According to details, the amount, approved for the rain affectees, will be disbursed through mobile banking in next fifteen days.
A three-member committee comprising senior member board of revenue, secretary finance and the secretary-general administration has been constituted to ensure smooth distribution of the money.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also approved the construction of an anti-encroachment police station in Tharparkar. Rs3.2 million has been allocated for the establishment of the PS. A 4×4 pickup, motorcycle and furniture for the anti-encroachment police station in Tharpkar would be purchased.
