RAWALPINDI: Former minister Sheikh Rasheed’s nephew Sheikh Shakir has been released and has returned home after the release of the Awami League chief and his employee and driver.
According to the details, the Awami League chief’s nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq confirmed reaching Sheikh Shakir’s house, while his driver and employee have already been released. The police had expressed ignorance of Sheikh Rashid’s arrest.
Recently, the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court filed a petition against the unannounced arrest of Sheikh Rasheed, Sheikh Shakir, and their employees. It was requested by the court that Sheikh Shakir’s profession is trading, and he should be released immediately.

So far, the police have not produced Sheikh Rasheed in the Lahore High Court despite repeated respite from the court. The court had warned the RPO Rawalpindi to register a case if he was not released.
