RAWALPINDI: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after his controversial pictures were leaked on social media.
Sources informed that the federal minister met with Director General FIA Wajid Zia and requested him to take action over the new scandal in which his private pictures were shared online. He said that a smear campaign has been launched against him and strict action should be taken against them.
The pictures showing the minister in a comprising position went viral on the social media site Twitter. The minister has reportedly shown his displeasure and asked authorities to take stringent action against them.
Director General FIA Wajid Zia and Inspector General Police Islamabad Amir Zulfiqar separately called on the interior minister in Islamabad on Tuesday. The DG FIA briefed the interior minister about the performance of the FIA while the IGP Islamabad gave a briefing about the law and order situation in the federal capital.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed took over as interior minister in a cabinet reshuffle by the prime minister last week. He was serving as federal minister for railways.
