Shahbaz Gill demands FIR over Bilal Saeed’s music video in mosque

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
August 10, 2020
ISLAMABAD: Reacting to the explanation given by actress Saba Qamar over Bilal Saeed’s music video inside the Wazir Khan mosque, Special Assistant on Prime Minister on Political Communication, Shahbaz Gill has said the concerned authorities (Chief Secretary) should take action and sue the production team and the endowment department so that they are punished.
Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed are facing criticism after it emerged that the duo shot a music video inside the historical Wazir Khan mosque. Saba’s name became a top hashtag trend on Twitter as the video clip from the song went viral.
On a social media website Twitter, Shahbaz Gill said: “The explanations given by actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed on the shooting of the song are false and they should be punished”.

Gill further said “They should have thought before shooting the song. Now Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar are giving false explanations,” he added.
Sharing the video, Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gill said according to Saba Qamar, only the marriage scene was shot, he added: “Saba’s explanations are not true”.
He said artists and writers cultivate ethics in society. “They are gardeners of moral values. However, some of our artists lie with boldness”, he added. “The disrespect of the mosque is not acceptable in any case, Gill said.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan had also condemned actress Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed music video inside the historical Wazir Khan mosque.
“Using the mosque for dancing and singing is a sign of doomsday”, he tweeted. “Is there any limit left for degradation and misguidance to rebel against Allah in the house of Allah?”, he questioned. He prayed to Allah Almighty to have mercy on us.

On Saturday, Saba Qamar had responded criticism from social media users, over the controversial video inside the Wazir Khan mosque.
In a series of tweets, she explained what actually happened at the shoot. According to Saba, only one sequence was shot at the mosque which was a prologue to the music video featuring a Nikah scene.
“It was neither shot with any sort of playback music nor has it been edited to the music track,” she added.

In another tweet, she said, “the BTS video that’s been circulated on social media was just a circular movement to click stills for the poster of ‘Qabool’ depicting a happily married couple right after their Nikah.”
The picture was recently posted by Saba Qamar and songwriter Bilal Saeed with the same caption ‘Qubool hai’ on their Instagram accounts. Saba Qamar posted a photo on her Instagram while holding hands of Bilal Saeed in front of a mosque in a traditional outfit.
