Several PTI leaders released from Jail

ISLAMABAD: Several prominent leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been released from jail following verdict given by Lahore High Court (LHC) which suspended their detention orders the other day.

According to details gathered by MM News, some 83 PTI leaders and workers have so far been released, out of which 24 were released from Sargodha and 59 from Rajanpur.

Senior vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, secretary general Asad Umar and other leaders and workers were released from different jails in Punjab on late Friday night.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi was released from Attock District Jail and given a rousing welcome when PTI leaders and workers showered flower petals on him. His son Zain Qureshi, daughter Meharbano Qureshi, Major Tahir Sadiq, Syed Yawar Bukhari, Qazi Ahmad Akbar and other were also present outside the jail.

Speaking on this occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said ‘old thieves can never make New Pakistan,” adding that the country’s foreign policy should be based on self-respect and dignity. He further said that in 2018, PTI’s success remained incomplete but this time, Punjab has given the party a thumping mandate.

Senator Azam Swati was set free from Rahimyar Khan Jail. Several PTI leaders were also present on this occasion.

PTI’s secretary general Asad Umar was released from Rajanpur Jail late on Friday where he was held under detention for the last ten days. A large number of party workers from Rajanpur, Rojhan, Jampur, Dera Ghazi Khan were present to welcome him. They raised slogans in favour of PTI chairman Imran Khan. PTI leader Aun Abbas Bappi was also present outside the district jail.

Similarly, former Governor Punjab Omar Sarfraz Cheema was released from District Jail Bhakkar, while Fayyaz Chauhan, Zulfi Bukhari, Sadaqat Awan and several others were also released from Shahpur jail. A large number of party supporters gathered outside jail to welcome them and showered rose petals.

Talking to the media, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said the incompetent rulers will be defeated in every forum. “We will give every effort for this country on the call of Imran.”

Zulfi Bukhari said the PTI’s Jail Bahro Tehreek was a success. He said PTI Chairman Imran Khan will launch the election campaign today (Saturday) and they will be a part of it.
