Over 40 passengers die as bus falls into gorge in Balochistan’s Bela

BELA: The death toll as a result of a bus falling from bridge in Balochistans’ Bela has climbed to 41, while four other are injured. The bus caught fire immediately after coming down off the bridge at Chenki Stop, Bela.

The incident took place during the wee hours of Sunday near Chenki Stop, Bela.

According to updated information from Assistant Commissioner Hamza Anjum, the death toll has climbed to 41, while two injured have been shifted to Quetta and two to Karachi.

There were some 48 passengers in the bus, including women and children, and rescue workers expressed apprehensions that the death toll might go up.

Officials said it took up to 2 hours to douse the blaze that had engulfed the ill fated passenger bus.
