At least seven laborers from Multan were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in a house in Balochistan’s Panjgur district late Saturday, according to police reports.
The laborers were staying in a house in the Khuda-i-Abadan area of Panjgur when the attack occurred. The gunmen opened fire on the workers, who were sleeping in the same room of the house they were constructing in Mohalla Abdul Rehman. Seven workers were killed, and one was injured.
After receiving reports of the incident, police and other law enforcement agencies quickly arrived at the scene. The victims were transported to the district hospital.
Panjsur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fazil Shah Bokhari confirmed that all the victims were from the Shujabad area of Multan. The laborers had been brought to Panjgur by Abu Bakr to work on the construction of his house. Bokhari described the attack as an act of terrorism and said that an investigation was underway.
The victims were identified as Sajid, Shafiq, Fayyaz, Iftikhar, Salman, Khalid, and Allah Wasia.
This tragic incident follows a deadly attack last month in Balochistan’s Musakhail district, where at least 23 passengers were killed after being forced off buses and trucks in the Rarasham area.
