HYDERABAD: Hyderabad police claimed to have apprehended an absconder security guard of a private bank involved in a bank in Karachi on 4 March 2019.
According to a spokesman for Sindh police, on a tip-off, a police team detained the suspect identified as Syed Kashif Raza during a targeted raid in Hyderabad.
Citing the details of robbery police said the suspect allegedly broke 50 lockers in the bank and looted cash and jewelry worth 10 million rupees.
The arrested robber belongs to Karachi however he was living in Hyderabad to escape the arrest because the Karachi police had identified him as the prime suspect, police added.
The police official further said the police also recovered 500 grams hashish from arrested suspect’s possession.
Earlier on 9 March 2020, Karachi police had claimed to apprehended 49 accused from different parts of the metropolis during the last 24 hours.
A spokesman for Karachi police, Muhammad Sohail police arrested 16 drug peddlers under the Narcotics Act, three under Arms Act from different parts of the metropolis.
District East police during its action against criminals detained a four-member gang of robbers. The criminals were identified as Gulam, Awais Aslam, Raheem Khan and Akbar Ali.
Meanwhile, 29 street criminals were arrested by police from different localities of the city. He said gamblers, gutka, mawa sellers, while others for their alleged involvement in various crimes.
