MUZAFFARABAD: Authorities have imposed Section 144 in Muzaffarabad due to heightened tensions and the prevailing law and order situation in the city.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, a complete ban has been placed on gatherings of more than four people in public places across Muzaffarabad. The administration warned that strict action will be taken against violators of the order.
Officials said the decision to impose Section 144 has been taken in view of the ongoing security concerns in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where law enforcement agencies remain on high alert, particularly in Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, internet services remain suspended across several parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The suspension has caused significant difficulties for residents.
Authorities also noted that the security situation intensified after the recent developments involving the Joint Awami Action Committee, which had announced plans for protest activity on 9 June.
