The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially clarified that no new design for the Rs. 1,000 currency note has been issued.
The circulating images and videos on social media claiming the launch of a redesigned note are entirely false.
Recently, various posts on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram have gone viral, showing colorful images and videos of an allegedly “new” Rs. 1,000 banknote. These posts falsely claim that the SBP has released a note featuring modern security elements and updated printing technology.
However, the SBP has categorically denied these claims, confirming that it has not issued any new Rs. 1,000 banknote. A spokesperson for a private bank in Karachi also confirmed that they have not received any official communication regarding the release of such a note. Moreover, no such announcement has been published on the SBP’s official website.
The public is advised not to trust or share unverified information circulating on social media and to rely solely on official sources for accurate updates.
