SBP announces bank holidays

ISLAMABAD: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared a two-day public holiday for Ashura (9th & 10th Muharram), suspending the operations of all the commercial and government banks during this period.

According to the issued notification, the Central Bank will be closed on Thursday, June 25, and Friday, June 26 following the holidays announced by the Government of Pakistan. SBP will not perform any official work for two consecutive days.

Similarly, all the banks and other financial institutions throughout the country will also stop public dealings and financial transactions.

The citizens are advised to accomplish their important bank transactions before these holidays are implemented.

All the branches of commercial banks and others related to the government will not open on Thursday & Friday; however, customers can get their important financial services through internet banking and mobile application/other digital resources available through ATMs and mobile applications.
