Karachi: In a significant development, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has canceled the Sale and Advertisement No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the renowned real estate developer, Bahria Town Karachi, after the company failed to pay its dues for scrutiny.
The Deputy Director of Public, Sales, and Advertising at SBCA issued a letter of cancellation, citing non-payment of fees as the primary reason for the decision. This comes after several show-cause notices were issued to Messrs. Bahria Town regarding their unpaid dues, but the company failed to respond to these notices.
The cancellation of the NOC is a serious setback for Bahria Town, a prominent name in Pakistan’s real estate sector. NOCs are crucial documents that allow developers to advertise and sell properties legally, and the cancellation of such a certificate can significantly impact the operations of a real estate project.
SBCA has not disclosed the specific amount of unpaid dues, and it is unclear whether Bahria Town plans to address this issue and have the NOC reinstated. As of now, the cancellation of the NOC stands, casting a shadow over Bahria Town’s projects and future endeavors.
