KARACHI: Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials allow resuming construction of on an illegal building prepared by cheap materials after receiving a huge amount of bribe from builders in North Nazimabad area of the metropolis.
According to sources, SBCA officers, Director Fahim Murtaza, Deputy Director Arif Zahidi, Assistant Director Amirul Hassan and Building Inspector Farooq Soomro have received Rs one million offer from the builders for allowing construction work on the building situated in North Nazimabad block-5.
Sources said the building was bulldozed earlier on the direction of the Supreme Court of Pakistan over taking action against illegal constructions and allotment.
Sources further said the SBCA officers earlier claimed that they had buildozed several illegal buildings in the same area on the direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The area residents have expressed their concerns over the re-construction work on the building.
The residents of the area have demanded Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and other relevant officers, to take notice of the corruption of the officers and ordered them to stop such illegal practice in future.
