Saudi Arabia is gearing up for its first-ever appearance on the Miss Universe stage, as 27-year-old model and influencer, Rumy Alqahtani, emerges as the kingdom’s inaugural representative.
Following the groundbreaking path of Erica Robin, who notably represented Pakistan in last year’s Miss Universe, Alqahtani is poised to represent Saudi Arabia on the global beauty pageant platform. With Monday’s announcement, the seasoned beauty pageant contestant and Instagram influencer, boasting a substantial one million followers, expressed her pride in showcasing Saudi Arabia on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
“I am honored to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition, marking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s debut,” Alqahtani shared in Arabic on her Instagram.
Accompanying her announcement were striking images of Alqahtani adorned in regal attire, wearing a strapless sequined gown, tiara, and sash, while proudly holding the Saudi Arabian flag.
Hailing from Riyadh, Alqahtani is no newcomer to the spotlight, having participated in various global pageants, including the recent Miss and Mrs Global Asian contest in Malaysia, showcasing her wealth of experience and poise on the Miss Universe stage.
Alqahtani’s participation signifies a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia, reflecting the nation’s growing presence and recognition on the international stage. As she prepares to exhibit Saudi beauty, culture, and grace to the world, anticipation and support for her historic journey continue to mount.
