RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has extended the temporary ban on the pilgrims entering its country to perform Umrah till 31st March due to the on-going coronavirus disease.
The Saudi government had taken the step to prevent coronavirus as the first case had been detected in the country two days ago.
Earlier on 27th February, the Saudi government suspended the entry to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque temporarily till 15th March.
In this regard, all airlines were directed to inform their passengers to wait for further orders.
The Saudi government had also placed a ban on the passengers who are traveling through a visit visa. The move of the umrah suspension has been made to prevent one of the deadly contagious viruses outbreak.
More than 65 countries around the world have been affected by the coronavirus disease. started from China, and one case of the virus has also been confirmed in Saudi Arabia.
The virus has up till now spread to more than 30 countries, killing over 2,700 and infecting 80,000, mostly in China.
