Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday unveiled an over Rs3.562 trillion provincial budget

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday unveiled a Rs3.562 trillion provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, projecting a budget deficit of Rs36.9 billion.

The presentation, his 13th budget speech, was marred by opposition protests and a walkout from the Sindh Assembly.

CM Murad said the government has not imposed any new taxes, terming the budget pro-people and business-friendly.

He announced Rs750 billion for development expenditure and noted that the budget has been framed amid global economic uncertainty driven by geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures and disruptions in international trade.
