Sajal Aly made her TV debut in 2009 with a small role in Naadaniyaan. However, her breakthrough came from Mehmoodabad Ki Malkain which rose her to fame and she starred in a number of TV shows.
In 2016, she made her film debut with Feroze Khan in Zindagi Kitni Haseen. While the film didn’t fare too well at the box office, it did win the actress a Nigar Award for her performance.

Directed by Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and written and co-produced by Jemima Khan, the is an upcoming British romantic comedy movie has already excited Pakistanis due to indo-Pak’s collaboration in the movie.
Beside Sajal Aly, the cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Asim Chaudhry, Mim Shaikh, Jeff Mirza, Iman Boujelouah, Mariam Haque and Sidhu Vee.
The film tells the story of documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James) for whom swiping right has never been that great. She has always got Mr Wrongs, much to her mother Cath’s (Emma Thompson) dismay.
The audience would also meet Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbour Kaz (Shazad Latif), who is letting his parents arrange his marriage and find him a Pakistani bride.
However, as Zoe films Kaz’s journey from London to Lahore to marry a complete stranger chosen by his parents, she wonders if she might have something to learn from an arranged marriage that can help her find love on her own.
The movie is slated to release on January 27, 2023, in the United Kingdom. Moreover, the movie will be holding its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival which will happen this year’s September.
