KARACHI: Roads leading to the Sindh Chief Minister House were closed for general traffic on Sunday after containers were placed on major thoroughfares.
According to media reports, the closure has been attributed to security reasons.
Containers have been placed at Metropole, PIDC and adjoining arteries, while traffic police officials have been deployed on surrounding roads to manage the flow and divert commuters to alternative routes.
Commuters heading towards the Red Zone were facing difficulties, with traffic officials advising them to use alternate routes.

The development comes as Jamaat-i-Islami is holding protest sit-ins in all provincial capitals today against the continuous increase in petroleum prices and levy.
The party has announced that it will stage demonstrations outside all Chief Ministers’ Houses as part of its countrywide protest call.
