ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said the government is making every possible effort to revive the Pakistan Steel Mills and making it a profitable organisation.
While chairing a meeting regarding revival of Pakistan Steel Mills, the prime minister said efforts are being made to end burden on national exchequer by reviving the organisation so that it can play its role in the progress and development of the country.
He said the mills suffered a lot under past governments who did not make any efforts to revive the loss-making entity and had become an additional burden for years. He said the revival of PSM is the top priority of the government.
During the meeting, the prime minister was informed that Chinese and Russian companies have shown interest in reviving the Pakistan Steel Mills and several proposals are under consideration in this regard.
The meeting reviewed various options and efforts being made for the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.
