ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Employees’ Pension Association has held a protest in Islamabad against pension policy and demanded the government to increase their monthly pension.
The All Pakistan Pensioners Association (APPA) staged a protest in front of the National Press Club in Islamabad today. Talking to media they said, “Citizens are already facing financial troubles owing to inflation in the country and the government wants to multiply their woes by it wrong policies.”
Syed Mohammad Tayyab Sabzwari spokesman for All Pakistan Pensioners while talking to MM News said, “Our pension is very low in today’s era of inflation, we are all old people, we are sick, our medicines are very expensive, our pension is not in proportion to the inflation,” he added.
They said Nia Pakistan has proved a hell for working classes. They said the policies of the incumbent government are anti-people. They demanded an increase in pension and increments according to inflation.
Demonstrators said that the salaries of federal employees have been increased by 25% while the pensions of pensioners were to be increased by 35% but the government only increased the salaries of federal employees.
They said that their protest will continue till the demands are met, the government should have mercy on the elderly people.
